When we watched James Bond racing his superfast car one minute and diving straight into the water, transforming it into a submarine, we all wondered if that was really possible. And the answer is, yes it is. It is not a prerogative of Mr Bond anymore, there is a new breed of cars and bikes available to experimental, adventurous and of course, RICH, driving enthusiasts.

These machines are called ‘amphibious vehicles’ and are designed to run on land and water. They could be cars, buses, bikes, trucks, military vehicles, hovercrafts and more. The most unique ones would be the cars and bikes as there is more scope for modifications.
The convertible Aquada Sports Amphibian goes at 100 mph on land and jet propels through water at over 30 mph. Whereas the Watercar is known to reach speeds of 125 mph on land and 45 mph on water.
Some poeple have come up with some interesting names for these vehicles, like the Landshark, Sea-Roader, Gibbs Aquada and Dukw.

These conveyance options are quite cool, albeit not necessarily practical. While most of these are only meant for land and water surfaces, the ‘sQuba’ is probably the world’s first submersible car.

As these amphibians not a mass production item at the moment, we non-Bonds will have to make do with other Bond favourites, like the Aston Martin!
